Reflective Thoughts (Ep 2)
As I've been speaking on these panels all these pasts thoughts have been coming up. It's crazy to think once upon a time my dream was to be Editor-in-chief of a magazine (inspiration between Carrie Bradshaw and Sidney Shaw in Brown Sugar). Then that got replaced with being a stylist and owning a boutique (think Raquel in Single Ladies). Are those things still possible...of course. Have I been on a journey to have those dreams become reality...definitely, but where I am now is definitely a deter from those things. Don't get me wrong I believe that all of this has happened for a reason, but when you have to tell your story to people it really puts things in perspective. I have been looking at where I was, where I wanted to be and how far I've come.
I recently went to an intimate dinner event with a few new ladies and one of the questions was, "if your 16 year old self could see you what would they think of you now?" I thought that was such a simple yet powerful question; however the more I thought about it the more I knew that my 16 year old self would be proud of me. I do not have all the answers by ANY means, but I do have all the tools I need to create the life I want. At this stage in the game I am over trying to because I am doing it.
