Wardrobe Game Changers
In the fashion world we always talk about staples one should always have in their wardrobe such as the classic pencil skirt, tailored jacket, button down, denim/chambray shirt and of course a great pair of slacks. There are other main wardrobe staples but you get the idea. However, people sometimes forget wardrobe staples that compliment a look and that in my opinion is a no-no. So let's break down a few items that when done right (key statement there) will ALWAYS compliment a look. By complimenting a look I mean it adds that finishing touch you never thought you needed.
Black Opaque Stockings - total game changer. Solid tights can take a look from street to chic in seconds.
Example: a mini skirt, bodycon dress and/or shorts are pieces that when worn with opaque stockings can look more streamlined and polish than just having your legs out if that is the look you are going for. There is nothing wrong with having your legs out, but sometimes we want to wear these borderline questionable items in certain environments that can take it from a 10 to 2 quickly. Adding some stockings will potentially flip that script.
Jewelry - I am a HUGE advocate for jewelry. Those who know me, know this and those who don't will learn, jewelry really is the finishing touch. There is something about a piece that really makes a difference. In my opinion, like clothing, jewelry pieces reflect moods, scenes and they are the stamp of approval for me on a daily basis.
Example: whenever you wear something and you feel there is something missing, but you can't pinpoint what that is I guarantee it isa jewelry piece more times than not. If it isn't jewelry then it is an accessory which brings me to my next item.
Accessories - technically this includes jewelry, but I like to spike out jewelry because it really is its own thing. Accessories, include hats, headpieces, scarves, sunglasses, etc. Having these additional pieces incorporated into a look or wardrobe is a game changer.
Example: people consistently sleep on a simple scarf, hat and even sunglasses, but these items can take a look from drab to fab in seconds. These small pieces really make a difference depending on the look direction you are going for that day. As someone who owns many hats I can honestly say that sometimes I feel like my look isn't doing it for me and I'll add a specific hat and it makes me feel great instantly. Small details matter!
Lastly, tank tops (camisoles, chemise whichever your preference is). This is the last game changer I will outline here, but please believe there are more. So tank tops are a random item that people normally have in their wardrobe maybe in basic colors that they wear alone or during the summer However, can I just point out that this is the ultimate wardrobe game changer. There are times when we have tops that are super cute whether they are see through or low plunge that we would love to wear on the 9-5 tip, but it can get questionable. Throw a tank top on under it and it instantly takes the hesitation away for most scenarios. Obviously all of this is a case by case basis, but for most scenarios these game changers can apply.
